본 마이랴오 플랜트는 크라톤의 혁신적인 사업 특히 저 분자량 HSBC 제품 사업을 지원하게 된다. 이 폴리머들은 열 안정성이 높은 접착제, 실런트와 페인트 등의 저 점도 제품뿐만 아니라 자동차, 의료기기와 필름용 올레핀 기반 컴파운드에 경도와 투명도와 같은 기능적 특징을 올려준다.



동 플랜트는 저 점도 제품 제조 설비 외에도 공정 및 제품 실험실을 갖추고 있다는 것이 핵심적인 특징이다. 약 100명의 직원이 플랜트에 고용되어 2014년 초 건설이 시작된 이래 기록될 만한 사고가 없는 180만 이상의 작업시간을 이미 달성하였다. 본 플랜트는 시험 생산 기간을 성공적으로 마치고 현재 상업 생산을 하고 있다.

Kraton Announces Opening of HSBC Plant in Taiwan



HOUSTON, May 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kraton Corporation (NYSE: KRA), a leading global producer of styrenic block copolymers, specialty polymers and high-value performance products derived from pine wood pulping co-products, announces the opening of the 30 kiloton hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer (HSBC) plant in Mailiao, Taiwan on Friday, May 12.

The Mailiao plant will support Kraton's innovation-grade business, particularly low molecular weight HSBC products. These polymers impart performance characteristics such as toughness and clarity in olefin-based compounds targeted for automotive, medical and film applications as well as low viscosity for thermally stable adhesives, sealants, and coatings.



The facility's key features include a process and product laboratory with capabilities for manufacturing low viscosity products. Approximately 100 people are employed at the plant, which has already achieved more than 1.8 million work hours without a recordable incident since construction began in early 2014. The plant is currently in commercial production after a successful trial productions period.
