Two disillusioned university presidents were discussing one day what they would do if they could live their lives over.
“I think I would like to run an orphanage,” said one. “No parents to contend with.”
“Well, I would like to be the warden of prison,” said the other. “No alumni pressure groups.”
대학 총장으로 있으면서 그 자리에 환멸을 느끼게 된 두 사람이 어느 날 자리를 같이해 이야기를 나누다보니, 세상을 다시 산다면 무슨 일을 하면 좋겠는지가 화제가 됐다.
“난 고아원을 운영했으면 싶네요. 그리 되면 학부모에게 시달리는 일은 없을 것 아닙니까.” 총장 한 사람이 이렇게 말하자 상대방이 대답했다.
“나는요, 형무소장이 됐으면 좋겠어요. 그러면 동창회 사람들에게 들볶이는 일은 면하게 될 것 아닙니까.”
