(CHONGQING, China, Oct. 10, 2018 PRNewswire=연합뉴스) The 2nd CGTN Global Media Summit and the 8th CCTV+ Global Video Media Forum (VMF2018) will be held in Chongqing from October 16-17, 2018, hosted by The China Global Television Network (CGTN) and CCTV News Content (CCTV+), and co-hosted by the China Global Television Network Corporation, the Chongqing Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, and the Communication University of China (CUC).
The event will run under the theme of "Opening and Connecting the World", with delegates exploring how to create a healthy and stable media eco-system. A series of keynote speeches, panel discussions and case analysis will be held revolving around hot topics such as new media ecology and how blockchain and 5G are going to support the development of the media industry. The two-day gathering will bring together almost 400 representatives from up to 100 media agencies and enterprises from over 70 countries and regions around the world, including China Media Group (CMG), China's provincial and municipal radio and television stations, Tencent, Sina, ByteDance, as well as The Associated Press, Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg L.P., Agence France-Presse (AFP), Turner Broadcasting, the Fox News Channel, NHK, and YouTube.
In addition, the 2nd Belt and Road News Alliance (BRNA) General Assembly will also be held during the summit. Based on the Belt and Road Initiative, the BRNA will assist media organizations in countries and regions along the Belt and Road in cooperating on news content, sharing media resources and information technology innovations. It aims to build a "silk road of news information" in the new era.
The CCTV+ Global Video Media Forum (VMF), first created by CCTV+ back in 2011, is well-known at home and abroad as an annual professional forum for video media organizations. CCTV+ has been committed to connecting Chinese and foreign media and enhancing communications and exchanges. The forum is expected to provide a platform for media professionals from around the world to learn from each other, seek cooperative development and share opportunities in the new media age.
